Robbers hit University Place bank

Two men pulled off a brazen armed robbery at a University Place bank on Tuesday, and police hope newly-released photos of the thieves will help get them off the streets.

The robbery occurred Tuesday just after 4 p.m. at an Umpqua Bank in the 4700 block of Bridgeport Way W. Cops say the two suspects walked into the bank carrying handguns and demanding cash from tellers. They grabbed the cash and darted out the door heading west.

Both suspects are thought to be about 5’7” tall with a slender builds. One man was wearing blue jeans, a brown hoodie, blue gloves, white tennis shoes and had a red bandana covering his face. The other robber was wearing dark pants, a black hoodie, red gloves and black shoes. He also wore a red bandana over his face.
