A Tacoma police officer narrowly escaped being hit by a car as a suspect drove away from an incident on the city’s north end, Tacoma police said.
Police spokesman Officer Mark Fulghum said the officer was checking on a report of an unwanted person near 15th and Sprague.
The man was also wanted on a warrant.
Fulghum said the man sped off in a car, nearly hitting the officer, before leaving the vehicle and running away.
Fulghum said the man escaped and is still at large.
The officer was not hurt.
